The Fine Art of Fashion Photography

The Fine Art of Fashion Photography

It was a delight to witness more and more iconic images and famed fashion photographers represented in fine art photography expositions. Once only seen in glossies and ad campaigns, fashion photography has blurred the divide between art and commerce, highlighting the esthetic value of a photographic image, whether or not it was used to advertise or sell a product. Luminaries like Norman Parkinson, Cecil Beaton, Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon have pieces in the show, as well as from contemporary artists like Ellen Von Unwerth, David LaChapelle and Arthur Elgort.

The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, April 5-8, 2018, Pier 94, NYC.
